Physics at the Intersection of Nature, History, and Medicine

Second-year General Medicine students (Group 201) and first-year Dentistry students (Group 105) of the Armenian Medical Institute, accompanied by their curator and Medical Physics lecturer Naira Atoyan, visited Tavush Province. The educational trip aimed to demonstrate how physics is reflected in nature, architecture, and everyday life. At Haghartsin and Makaravank monasteries, students explored the principles of force equilibrium, center of mass, and material strength through the architecture of stone arches and domes. At Goshavank, they learned about acoustics, sound reflection, and resonance, discovering their connection to ultrasound diagnostics and hearing. A memorable moment was the blessing of the students by Reverend Father Tadeos, who wished the future physicians and dentists knowledge and skills devoted to protecting human life and health. The trip also included a practical exploration of fermentation, temperature, pressure, density, and liquid properties, highlighting their relevance to medicine and everyday production. The visit demonstrated that medical physics extends far beyond textbooks, helping future healthcare professionals understand the human body, medical technologies, and the surrounding world.
